Bob Florence (1932–2008)
American pianist, composer, and big band leader. Performed with Les Brown, Louis Bellson, and Harry James. Received Grammy Award for arrangement for Si Zentner of “(Up a) Lazy River” in 1962. Played piano on Bobby Vee’s famous recording “Take Good Care of My Baby” TV arrangements included music for Dean Martin, Red Skelton, and Doc Severinsen on the Tonight Show. Received fifteen Grammy nominations and two Grammy awards (for the Zentner tune listed above and the album Serendipity 18 for Best Jazz Performance by a Large Ensemble.).
