Dick Meldonian (1930–2017) and Sonny Igoe
(1923–2012)
Saxophonist Meldonian played with Stan Kenton in the 1950s, then went on to play with Pat Moran, Sam Most, Erroll Garner, Nat Pierce, Bill Russo, and Marion Evans. Drummer Sonny Igoe began playing with Buddy Stewart and Benny Goodman in the ’40s, then joined Woody Herman in the ’50s. Igoe playd with the bands for The Ed Sullivan Show and The Jackie Gleason Show. Meldonian and Igoe joined to form their Big Swing Jazz Band in the early 1980s.
